Hospital acquired infections cost millions of dollars to health care facilities. They are potentially lethal, expensive and a nightmare for both patients and staff. They are also preventable. CVC Healthcare has a proven program to reduce infections and complications. We feel strongly that Insertion, care and maintenance are inextricably linked, and properly inserted lines are easier to maintain. Better maintenance leads to better outcomes. Our clinicians have led programs that eliminated CLABSIs for multiple years, including Stoughton Hospital in Wisconsin, that had zero CLABSISs for many years. CVC Healthcare has contracted with hundreds of hospitals across the country to improve their Vascular Access practices. Our process includes:
- Site visit: GAP analysis, nurse survey, bedside assessments
- Meet with key stakeholders, IP, beside nurse, inserters of devices
- Develop staff education materials
- Create a comprehensive, multi disciplinary team and approach to vascular access education
- Develop procedure checklists and review/update policies
