PICC/Midline Training
CVC Health Care is the only nationwide provider of simulated PICC training. Our instructors are all board-certified (VA-BC) vascular access specialists that are experts in the field, and they come with many years of teaching experience. In our 8-hour CEU accredited class, you will learn:
- Proper insertion technique for PICCs and Midlines
- Indications for use of these vascular access devices
- Complications and risks associated with these devices
- Proper care and maintenance of the two devices
- The role in educating others who care and maintain vascular access devices
- Proper use of ultrasound and MST insertion technique
- Proper maximum sterile barrier precautions
- Prevention of complications and infections of vascular access devices
Ultrasound-Guided PIV Training
Research indicates that less than 50% of PIVs last until therapy completion, with 40 hours being the average dwell time until replacement is needed. One of CVC Health Care’s core missions is to help clinicians have more success with inserting PIVs. Patients deserve to have as few needle sticks as possible, and being proficient with Ultrasound (USPIV) to locate suitable veins is an indispensable skill. In our 2-hour CEU accredited class you will learn to:
- Describe the issues related to PIV insertion
- Describe human peripheral venous anatomy
- Describe the vein/catheter selection process
- Demonstrate technique for cannulating a vessel
