AVA Nashville 2013

Posted on by Mary Smith

Attended the AVA Conference for my first time.  What a great event.  So many nurses, vendors and speakers that all have an interest in improving patient care. Networking was the best part for me.  I was very interested in the JACC by Arrow, the Midline by Health Line International and visiting all the different booths.  Everyone was very knowledgeable on Vascular Access Devices.  It was nice to hear that VAT, (Vascular Access Teams) can make a difference in patient outcomes.   Reducing CRBSI’s (Catheter related blog stream infections) continues to be one of the most important topics that everyone talks about.  Caps, Connectors, Chlorhexadine catheters, securement devices all play a role in reducing and eliminating infections for Vascular Access Devices.  I would recommend every nurse attend this conference.
